ATLANTA — The Atlanta Falcons are eyeing quarterback Kirk Cousins for a deal with the team, 11Alive Sports' Maria Martin confirmed on Monday.
Cousins' agent, Mike McCartney, also tweeted about the news on Monday.
Cousins, 35, has spent the last six seasons with Minnesota, during which time the Vikings have gone 50-37-1 with him under center. He's thrown for 23,265 yards at a 67.9% completion rate, with 171 touchdowns and 55 interceptions.
The quarterback has made the Pro Bowl three times in that span, establishing himself as a consistent upper-echelon quarterback in the NFL who's brought the Vikings to the playoffs three times, including a trip to the 2017 NFC Championship Game.
Cousins tore his Achilles last year, however, and missed roughly half of Minnesota's season -- his first extended period of missed time since he established himself as a full-time starter in the NFL back with Washington in 2015.
By the time next season starts, he will be 36 and making a comeback from that injury in Atlanta.
For his career spanning the time with both Washington and Minnesota, Cousins has four Pro Bowl appearances, two playoff wins under his belt and nearly 40,000 yards passing (39,471) with 270 touchdowns and 110 interceptions.
