ATLANTA (WXIA) -- The NFL released the 2015 schedule for all 32 NFL teams Tuesday evening, and the Falcons' schedule looks very strong.
The new schedule includes a Monday night season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles and their newly-signed quarterback, Tim Tebow, on September 14 at the Georgia Dome. That game will be part of the League's customary opening weekend Monday night doubleheader, with an earlier start time of 7:10 pm.
In addition, the Falcons get a Thursday night showing in New Orleans in Week 6, on Thursday night October 15. All of the other games are Sunday affairs, with the traditional Bye Week coming in Week 10, the week of November 15.
This season, along with the home-and-home games against NFC South opponents, the in-conference schedule is against the NFC East with games against the Eagles, Giants, Cowboys and Redskins; the cross-conference schedule is against the AFC South, with games against the Texans, Titans, Colts and Jaguars. The two odd-out games this season are against the Vikings and 49ers.
Beginning in Week 5, NBC has the freedom of "flexing" scheduled games, permitting the network to select more competitive match-ups from across the League to move from a Sunday afternoon start time to a Sunday night prime time start for Sunday Night Football. As a result, game times from Week 5 on are subject to change.
11Alive will carry NBC's prime-time football schedule with Sunday Night Football, and two Thursday night games: the opening night broadcast with the Super Bowl XLIX champion New England Patriots hosting the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Thanksgiving night game with the Green Bay Packers hosting the Chicago Bears.
