FLOWERY BRANCH, GA (WXIA) – The Atlanta Falcons on Wednesday announced that they had come to terms with Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Schaub, who returns to the Falcons after playing for the Houston Texans, Oakland Raiders and Baltimore Ravens since 2007.
The 6-foot-5, 235 pound Schaub was originally selected by the Falcons in the third round of the 2004 NFL Draft out of Virginia. He spent his first three NFL seasons in Atlanta, playing in 38 games with two starts for the Falcons, completing 84-of-161 passes for 1,033 yards and six touchdowns.
He was traded to the Texans during the 2007 offseason, and played in 90 games with 88 starts for Houston, completing 1,951 of 3,020 passes for 23,221 yards with 124 touchdowns for the Texans, while being selected to two Pro Bowl teams.
In 2014, Schaub was traded to the Raiders, where he saw action in 11 games, before being signed by the Ravens during the 2015 offseason. He played in two games with two starts for Baltimore, going 52-for-80 for 540 yards and three touchdowns for the Ravens.
