ATLANTA — Many Falcons fans are still talking about their new head coach after the news broke Thursday that Raheem Morris would take the position.
At OEB Barber Shop in Midtown, customers and owners say nothing is off limits. On Friday, the Falcons' new hire was the talk of the shop.
Customer Alan Mandell said he has confidence in Coach Morris that he'll do just fine.
“He was the interim coach before… and he was fine as the interim coach," Mandell added.
While getting his haircut, Mandell was already mapping out long and short-term goals for the team under Morris.
“The Falcons really need a defense, and he’s got experience with defense, so he’s got to improve the defense and the offensive line," Mandel explained.
The 14th permanent head coach in franchise history will take over a fairly strong team, aside from the quarterback position, which the team is expected to address in the offseason. Despite some concerns that he was underqualified, OEB barber and owner Marvin Jones said he thinks he'll rise up to the challenge.
“The Falcons never stand still," Jones said. "You got to respect that. You’ve got to respect that about the Falcons."
Both Jones and Mandell agree that with a layered approach addressing both defense and offense, Coach Morris will be successful.
