Atlanta History Center welcomes Pepsi to Super Bowl 2019 with nod to Coca-Cola

“Bless your heart,” Atlanta History Center said in a Facebook post to Pepsi.

ATLANTA — The one thing you don’t want to hear from a Southerner? “Bless your heart.” That’s the message Atlanta History Center has for Pepsi in a tongue-and-cheek Facebook post directed at Pepsi – the lead sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.

But Atlanta is Coke country – and the Atlanta History Center made that perfectly clear in their throw-back photo featuring a massive Coca-Cola sign downtown.

“A big Atlanta welcome to Pepsi! We’re so glad you’re here for the Super Bowl, but know that Coca-Cola has always (and will always) run in our veins. #blessyourheart,” the caption said.

Pepsi signs have been popping up all over Atlanta, something an 11Alive viewer aptly described as “Cola Wars 2019.”

Some of the signs read, “Pepsi in Atlanta. How Refreshing,” while others state, “Look who’s in town for the Super Bowl.”
