LAS VEGAS — Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker just broke the NFL record for the longest kick in Super Bowl history, which was actually first set earlier in the game Sunday.
Butker launched a 57-yard field goal in the third quarter to cut the 49ers lead to 10-6. The first points of the game came from San Francisco kicker Jake Moody, who hit a 55-yard field goal.
Butker, a Decatur, Georgia, native, is no stranger to the Super Bowl. Having appeared in what will be his fourth come Sunday, the former Yellow Jacket was the hero for the Chiefs in last year's Super Bowl win over the Philadelphia Eagles. Butker nailed a 27-yarder with seconds left to help push the Chiefs over the top.

He also attended Westminster School from 2009 to 2013. While there, he lettered three years in football and basketball and four years of soccer -- impressive to say the least.
He had quick success with his powerful right leg, being named all-state kicker, named prokicker.com Athlete of the Year and first-team all-America pick in 2011 and 2012. He holds the record for the longest field goal in program history with a 53-yarder in high school.
