ATLANTA — Weather Channel veteran forecaster Jim Cantore is usually seen in locations where catastrophic storms can be found.
On Monday, he was in downtown Atlanta taking in the sights and sounds ahead of Super Bowl LIII, where the skies were clear and the weather was relatively warm. Highs were close to 60 degrees.
A far cry from Tuesday as a cold front was pushing through north Georgia, with rain early changing to snow later in the day.
Falling temperatures promise to change wet roads into slippery surfaces as possible black ice sets up across the region for Tuesday night. Motorists are cautioned to take extra care and time while driving.
Along with the falling temperatures, strong winds will bring bitter cold wind chills in the teens overnight Tuesday night and early Wednesday morning.
