ATLANTA — Lyft has announced its plan to help the more than one million out-of-town visitors, as well as local residents, get around Atlanta before and after Super Bowl LIII.
The ridesharing service, which already has a partnership with Atlanta's hometown airline Delta, is planning additional discounts and resources to encourage the use of its service and public transportation during Super Bowl week in and around the city.
“This will be a great opportunity for residents of Atlanta and our guests to experience the convenience, comfort and affordability of MARTA. It’s great to see private companies like Lyft working to encourage public transportation,” said Atlanta city councilmember and transportation chair Andre Dickens. “This offer can reduce congestion, lower commuting costs and help Atlanta continue to grow not only during this busy time, but year-round.”
Lyft is providing a MARTA offer of 50 percent, up to $10 on 10 rides, during the week of the game. To claim the offer, riders can add the promo code SUPERMARTA to their Lyft apps. (Note: the promo code does not apply on trips to and from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport)
As an extension of Lyft's partnership with Delta Air Lines, riders who have linked their Delta SkyMiles accounts with their Lyft accounts will earn five miles for every dollar spent on rides in Atlanta the weekend of Feb. 1 through Feb. 3.
In December, Lyft launched e-scooters in Atlanta and they are bringing more scooters into the city just in time for the game. Users can easily rent a scooter straight from the Lyft app.
There is no need to download anything new or add payment details for existing Lyft users. Lyft scooters are $1 to unlock and $0.15 per minute after that.
Lyft has long-term relationships with many of the city's popular visitor's spots, including Georgia Aquarium, Zoo Atlanta, the Woodruff Arts Center and the Georgia Craft Brewers Guild.
“The city is working hard to make sure that it’s as simple as possible to get around Atlanta during this time, and we want to support that mission in any way we can,” said Sam Bond, general manager of Lyft Southeast. “Whether you’re a lifelong Atlantan or this is your first trip to the ATL, we hope you look to Lyft to help you navigate our city and focus on having a great time during this amazing celebration of football.”
