PARIS, France — At just 18 years old, metro Atlanta's Adaejah Hodge will compete Monday in the women's 200m semifinal at the Paris Olympics.

On Sunday, she ran in the 200m Round 1, where she placed 22nd out of 45. She then went to the repechage round on Monday, where she was the second fastest in her heat, qualifying for the semifinal with a time of 22.94 seconds.

Hodge is representing the British Virgin Islands in Paris.

The Douglasville native will compete in the first of three 200m semifinal races with Julien Alfred, the woman who won gold in the 100m final, helping St. Lucia get its first Olympic gold medal.

Another U.S. track star with Atlanta connections, Gabby Thomas, also made the semifinal by advancing out of the 200m heats with a time of 22.20 seconds, best in her race. Thomas was born and partly raised in Atlanta.

The semifinal races will start at 2:45 p.m. The first two in each race and the next two fastest times overall will make the final. There will be a total of eight runners in the final.

Hodge did not advance to the finals. She placed last in her heat, where she didn't qualify.
