ATLANTA — Two of Atlanta's own will represent the U.S. at the Olympic Games in Paris, according to the United States Tennis Association (USTA) on Thursday.

Coco Gauff and Chris Eubanks are set to make their Olympic debuts, joining a team that includes experienced Olympians and other first-time competitors.

The U.S. women’s team will include singles world No. 2 Gauff, along with No. 5 Jessica Pegula, No. 11 Danielle Collins, No. 17 Emma Navarro, and doubles No. 11 Desirae Krawczyk. Gauff, who was previously named to the Tokyo 2021 team but did not compete due to a positive COVID-19 test, will compete in both singles and doubles with Pegula. The team will be coached by USTA Head of Women’s Tennis Kathy Rinaldi.

The men's team will be led by 2012 Olympic doubles gold medalist and Davis Cup captain Bob Bryan.

The U.S. plans to announce its mixed doubles team from the players named above at a later date.

When it comes to tennis, the U.S. has a strong history, boasting 24 medals, 14 of which are gold, since the sport fully returned to medal events in 1988.

As the Olympic Games approach, excitement and anticipation build for these talented athletes who will represent the U.S. on the world stage. Look out for all the Georgia athletes competing this summer.
