PARIS, France โ€” Brazil's women's gymnastics team took bronze in the all-around team final for artistic gymnastics on Tuesday, even after one member took a fall before competing. It is the country's first-ever Olympic medal in women's gymnastics, according to the Associated Press.

Team member Flavia Saraiva has garnered massive attention and praise on the internet after she took a fall from uneven bars during warmup, but went on to compete with a tough-looking black eye and bandage.  On Tuesday, she competed in all four events - uneven bars, balance beam, floor exercise and vault - to help her team to the podium. She previously represented Brazil in Rio and Tokyo.

Fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to praise Saraiva's perseverance.

Besides Saraiva, the team roster included Rebeca Andrade, Jade Barbosa, Lorrane Oliveira and Julia Soares.

Team USA took the gold on Tuesday, making Simone Biles the most decorated U.S. Olympic gymnast. Italy came in second ahead of Brazil.
