PARIS, France — Is it worth the hype? These scrumptious-looking chocolates have been going viral on social media after a Norwegian swimmer put them on his Olympic podium.

The chocolate muffins are being sold at the Olympic Village, where athletes will stay for the next week. These aren't just your regular chocolate muffins; they have a gooey chocolate center and more chocolate pieces on top.

Although it may look like a simple double chocolate muffin, Olympians representing territories all across the world, including Atlanta-born track star Gabby Thomas and her mother, are reviewing the muffins.

Thomas took to TikTok on Wednesday, July 31 giving her review of the muffins.

"This has to be the best chocolate muffin I ever had. It tastes like a cupcake; it's so moist," Thomas said while devouring the muffin. "Yeah, this is going to be a problem."

She rated it a 9.8 out of 10, knocking down a 0.2 from the rating because they ran out when they tried to get it earlier. There might be a reason for that.

The 2024 Paris Olympics TikTok page commented under her TikTok, asking, "Can we get the recipe already?"

Norwegian swimmer Henrik Christiansen posted several TikTok videos about his love for the delectable dessert.

A running joke in the Olympic Village is that many athletes are trying to get the muffins before the "Olympic Muffin Man" takes them all.

In one video, Christiansen is seen carrying four muffins through the Olympic Village. In another, he's seen in his room eating a muffin and trying to "hide" that he has a whole supply on his nightstand

Days later, Thomas's mother tried the chocolate muffins.

"I do not care for these types of things," her mother started. After taking a bite, she exclaimed, "This is not a muffin; this is cake."

The men's gymnastics team also tried the muffins, including Georgia native Brody Malone, who told people how good they were.

"I had my first one this morning…oh my gosh, they’re really good,” Malone previously told PEOPLE Magazine. “They’re so gooey.”

Social media has raved about these muffins so much that people have started posting "Olympic village muffin dupe recipes" to get a taste of what the athletes are indulging in.

Thomas will be running on Monday in the 200-meter semifinal to hopefully qualify for the finals. If she qualifies for the final, she will run on Tuesday to compete for a medal.
