PARIS, France — Looking to cheer on some Olympic athletes with Georgia ties on Wednesday, Aug. 7? Check out who has competed! 

Diving

  • Carson Tyler
    • Colquitt County High School graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 3m springboard semifinal
    • Time: 4 a.m.

Results: Tyler, a native of storm-struck Moultrie who went to Colquitt County High, finished as one of the 12 best divers to qualify for the final in the 3m springboard event. He will be competing in the finals on Thursday at 9 a.m.

Sport climbing

  • Emma Hunt
    • From Marietta, current KSU student
    • Matchup: Women's speed climbing quarterfinals, semifinals (if qualify), finals (if qualify)
    • Time: 6:35 a.m., 6:46 a.m., 6:54 a.m.

Results: Team USA speed climber Emma Hunt fell short of a medal after a slip in her quarterfinal match-up on Wednesday. Her time was 7.98 seconds.

Track and field

  • Aaliyah Butler
    • UGA sophomore
    • Matchup: Women's 400m semifinal
    • Time: 2:45 p.m

Results: The UGA sophomore fell short of advancing to the 400m final. She placed sixth in her heat with a time of 51.18 seconds, which placed her 20th overall.

  • Katie Moon
    • Lives in Powder Springs
    • Matchup: Women's pole vault final
    • Time: 12:15 p.m. 

Results: Katie Moon won the silver medal in the women's pole vault final. Australia's Nina Kennedy took the gold, and Canada's Alysha Newman claimed the bronze.

  • Graham Blanks
    • Athens Academy graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 5000m round 1
    • Time: 5:10 a.m

Results: Blanks finished sixth in his qualifying heat on Wednesday. Blanks, 22, recorded a time of 14 minutes, 9.06 seconds. He will race in the 5000m final on Saturday, August 10 at 1:50 p.m. ET.

  • Marie-Therese Obst
    • UGA graduate
    • Matchup: Women's javelin throw qualification group B; competing for Norway
    • Time: 5:50 a.m

Results: Obst, competing for Norway, recorded a throw of 61.82 meters which placed her among the 12 best performers who advanced to the final.

  • CJ Allen
    • Life University alumnus
    • Matchup: Men's 400m hurdles semifinals
    • Time: 1:35 p.m. 

Results: Allen places fourth in his heat with a time of 48.44 seconds. He did not qualify for the final.

  • Daniel Roberts
    • Hampton High School graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 110m hurdles semifinals
    • Time: 1:05 p.m.

Results: Roberts finished second in his race to secure one of the eight spots in the final. He will race in the final on Thursday at 3:45 p.m. EST.

  • Chris Bailey
    • Carver-Atlanta High School graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 400m finals
    • Time: 3:20 p.m.

Results: Bailey placed sixth in the men's 400m with a time of 44.58 seconds. Although he did not medal, his fellow American teammate snagged the gold in the event.

Weightlifting

  • Hampton Morris
    • From Marietta
    • Matchup: Men's 61kg division
    • Time: 9 a.m

Results: Hampton Morris won bronze during the men's 61kg weightlifting event.

  • Jourdan Delacruz
    • Trains in Lawrenceville
    • Matchup: Women's 49kg division
    • Time: 1:30 p.m.

Results: Delacruz placed fifth, falling off the Olympic podium for the medaled event. She had a combined weight of 195kg.
