Georgia Olympic athletes to watch on Saturday

PARIS, France — Looking for some Georgia representation at the Olympic events on Saturday? 11Alive has you covered. Here is a list of Peach State athletes competing, by sport, on July 27:

Artistic gymnastics

  • Brody Malone - men’s qualification beginning 5 a.m. EDT 

Soccer 

  •  Caleb Wiley, Walker Zimmerman - US v New Zealand, men’s group A; 1 p.m. EDT (Caleb Wiley, Walker Zimmerman) 

Rugby sevens 

  • Orrin Bizer- US v Ireland, men's placing 5-8; 9 a.m. EDT, 12 or 12:30 p.m. EDT (depending on results in previous match)

Shooting 

  • Katelyn Abeln - 10m air pistol women’s qualification; 6:30 a.m. EDT 

Swimming

  • Nic Fink; Alex Grand'Pierre, competing for Haiti; Steven Insixiengmay, competing for Laos - men’s 100m breaststroke 5 a.m. EDT;  men’s 100m breaststroke semifinals 3:15 p.m. EDT 

  • Giovana Reis, competing for Brazil - women's 4x100m freestyle relay heats 5 a.m. EDT; women's 4x100m freestyle relay final; 3:37 p.m. EDT  - This will be the first chance for a medal for a Georgia-affiliated athlete. The final is at 3 p.m. on 11Alive. Brazil will have to advance out of the early morning qualifiers to get to the final, however.

Tennis

  •  Chris Eubanks - men’s singles first round; playing against Lebanon and Kazahkstan

  • Coco Gauff - women’s single first round throughout day; playing against Australia 

  • Maria Lourdes Carle, competing for Argentina - women’s single first round throughout day; playing against Germany

  • Coco Gauff - women’s doubles first round throughout day; playing against Australia

  • Ellen Perez, competing for Australia  - women’s doubles first round throughout day; playing against USA
