Here are some moments people are talking about from the Paris Olympics' Closing Ceremony

Now that the Paris Olympics are over, people are now looking ahead to the 2028 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles.

PARIS, France โ€” From Simone Biles being a superstar stealing the show wherever she goes to Tom Cruise proving yet again that he performs his own stunts, the 2024 Paris Olympics' Closing Ceremony was a night to remember.

Sunday's closing ceremony was an elaborate one at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis. It was filled with performers, Olympians, public officials and celebrities from various industries.

Below are some stand-out moments from the ceremony and how people across social media reacted to them:

Gymnast Simone Biles being the G.O.A.T.

Simone Biles repped how she's the Greatest Of All Time and even had her iconic GOAT necklace to prove it as she made an appearance at the ceremony.

During the passing of the Olympic flag to mark the transition to the 2028 Summer Olympics, which will be located in Los Angeles, the city's Mayor, Karen Bass, was able to stand with Biles in a moment that inspired young girls and women across the world. France's first female mayor, Anne Hidalgo, was also part of the moment.

Bass said that her hope is that they sent a message to "girls all around the world that they can do anything -- they can run for gold, and they can run for office."

During this same time, H.E.R. sang the national anthem. A person who watched the passing of the flag posted to X, formerly known as Twitter, to describe the beauty of this monumental moment.

H.E.R. a match for Whitney Houston singing the national anthem?

American R&B singer H.E.R. awed thousands with her version of the national anthem to the point where people have even gone so far as to say that she could have been a match to the most iconic queen of music, Whitney Houston.

Another person agreed on X for the most part but said that nothing could possibly top Whitney.

Tom Cruise stunting away like Ethan Hunt in Mission Impossible

Tom Cruise made an epic appearance, proving to everyone that he does, in fact, perform his own stunts in his movies like Mission Impossible, where he played Ethan Hunt. The actor was attached to wire cables as he floated from the top of the building all the way to the stadium floor, rocking a leather jacket. He then made an iconic exit by maneuvering through the crowd on a motorcycle.

But as one viewer put it, London -- and Europe in general -- may have the fictional 007 James Bond, but in America, people have the real-life Tom Cruise.

Who sang 'My Way?'

But speaking of the famous 007, one person took to X to put out a bid for French singer Yseult to be responsible for the next James Bond theme song.

People were awed by the singer's rendition of the famous Frank Sinatra song "My Way" as people searched and questioned who the singer was.

After the talk about that song, I'm sure the artist now has new fans supporting her in her passion for music.

Vertical piano prompting concerns for pianists

Another big stunt that happened during the closing ceremony was a grand piano being dangled high up in the air on its side. One viewer posted to X to say that pianists everywhere must not be able to concentrate on anything else but how the piano was hanging.

Another described worries about how the piano was possibly being held up for as long as it was without incident.

Looking toward LA2028 with Snoop Dogg

And as we all look toward the 2028 Summer Olympics, we can't forget how iconic Snoop Dogg was this year. The rapper was seemingly everywhere, repping Team USA in his getups and making sure his presence was known.

The celebrity somehow made it from Paris back to Los Angeles to kick off the celebration for the 2028 Olympics.

And like how people call Simone Biles the G.O.A.T., Snoop Dogg is also getting recognition in that arena.

One person even posted to X to call him a "national treasure."

That's a wrap on the 2024 Paris Olympics, folks! Be sure to tune in for 2028 for any iconic moments that may happen in Los Angeles.
