PARIS, France — Looking to cheer on some Olympic athletes with Georgia ties on Friday, Aug. 9? Check out who's competing!

Diving

  • Carson Tyler
    • Colquitt County High School graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 10m platform preliminary round 
    • Time: 4 a.m.

Results: Tyler placed 19th, with a score of 363.75 points. He qualified as a reserve for the semifinals, which will be Aug. 10 at 4 a.m.

Track and field

  • Anna Hall
    • At UGA for two seasons before transferring
    • Women's heptathlon long jump, javelin throw, 800m
    • 4:05 a.m., 5:23 a.m. and 2:25 p.m.

Results: Hall did not medal, coming in 5th overall with a point total of 6615. Hall placed 4th in her group in the long jump, jumping 5.93 meters and earning 828 points. She came in 3rd in her javelin throw group, with a personal best of 45.99 and adding 783 points. Hall won her heat in the 800m, running a 2:04.39 - her season best - and earning 1048 points. 

  • Christian Coleman (likely to compete for Team USA)
    • Atlanta native, attended Westlake High School and Our Lady of Mercy
    • Men's 4x100m relay final
    • 1:47 p.m.

Results: Team USA was disqualified on an out of zone penalty during Coleman's handoff. Even without the DQ, the team would not have medaled, as the baton struggle slowed them down.

  • Gabby Thomas (likely to compete in relay for Team USA)   
    • Atlanta native 
    • Women's 4x100m relay final
    • 1:30 p.m. 

Results: Thomas and Team USA took home the gold, running a season best of 41.78 seconds. Thomas herself ran a 10.25.
