PARIS, France — Looking to cheer on some Olympic athletes with Georgia ties on Thursday, Aug. 8? Check out who's competing!

Basketball

  • Anthony Edwards
    • Atlanta native, attended Therrell High School, Holy Spirit Prep and UGA
    • Matchup: Men's semifinal, US v Serbia
    • Time: 3 p.m.
  • Bogdan Bogdanovic
    • Plays for Atlanta Hawks
    • Matchup: Men's semifinal, US v Serbia; competing for Serbia
    • Time: 3 p.m.

Results: US won 95-91 and will play France in the gold medal game on Aug. 10 at 3:30 p.m. Serbia will play Germany in the bronze medal game on Aug. 10 at 5 a.m.

Canoe sprint

  • Nevin Harrison
    • Has trained at Lake Lanier
    • Matchup: Women's canoe single 200m heats, women's canoe single 200m quarterfinals (if qualify),
    • Time: 4:30 a.m., 6:40 a.m.

Results: Harrison won her heat with a time of 45.70 and automatically qualified for the semifinals on Aug. 10 at 5:40 a.m.

Diving

  • Carson Tyler
    • Colquitt County High School graduate
    • Matchup: Men's 3m springboard final
    • Time: 9 a.m.

Results: Tyler missed the podium, coming in 4th with a score of 429.25 points, just over 70 points below the 3rd place score.

Track and field

  • Jasmine Jones
    • Greater Atlanta Christian School graduate
    • Matchup: Women's 400m hurdles finals
    • Time: 3:25 p.m.

Results: Jones just missed the podium, coming in 4th with a time of 52.29.

  • Jasmine Moore
    • Was at UGA for two seasons before transferring
    • Matchup: Women's long jump final
    • Time: 2 p.m.

Results: Moore took home the bronze with a 6.96.

  • Tara Davis-Woodhall
    • Was at UGA for one season before transferring
    • Matchup: Women's long jump final
    • Time: 2 p.m.

Results: Davis-Woodhall took home the gold with a 7.10.

  • Ana da Silva
    • UGA senior
    • Matchup: Women's shot put qualification; competing for Brazil
    • Time: 4:25 a.m.

Results: Silva placed 11th in her group and did not qualify, with a high score of 17.09 meters.

  • Sanaa Frederick (likely to compete in relay)
    • Druid Hills High School graduate, will attend UGA in the fall
    • Women's 4x100m relay round 1; competing for Trinidad and Tobago
    • 5:10 a.m.

Results: Trinidad and Tobago came last in their heat, with a time of 43.99. Sanaa ran a 10.89.

  • Sole Frederick (likely to compete in relay) 
    • Druid Hills High School graduate, will attend UGA in the fall
    • Women's 4x100m relay round 1; competing for Trinidad and Tobago
    • 5:10 a.m.

Results: Trinidad and Tobago came last in their heat, with a time of 43.99. Sole ran a 10.67.

  • Gabby Thomas (likely to compete in relay for Team USA)   
    • Atlanta native 
    • Women's 4x100m relay round 1
    • 5:10 a.m. 

Results: Team USA took 1st in their heat, with a time of 41.94. Thomas ran a 10.59. The team will compete in the final on Aug. 9 at 1:30 p.m.

  • Anna Hall
    • At UGA for two seasons before transferring
    • Women's heptathlon 100m hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200m
    • 4:05 a.m., 5:05 a.m., 1:35 p.m., 2:55 p.m.

Results: So far, based on combined points, Hall is in 3rd place going into the rest of the heptathlon events. In the 100m hurdles, Hall came 6th in her heat with a time of 13.36, earning 1071 points. In the high jump, Hall came 3rd in her group, scoring 1.89 - her season best - and earning 1093 points. In shot put, Hall placed 5th in her group, with a final of 14.11 meters and scoring 801 points. In the 200m, Hall came 4th in her heat, with a time of 23,89 and scoring 991 points.

  • Christian Coleman (likely to compete for USA)
    • Atlanta native, attended Westlake High School and Our Lady of Mercy
    • Men's 4x100m relay round 1
    • 5:35 a.m.

Results: The U.S. won their heat with a time of 37.47. Coleman ran a 10.40. Team USA will compete in the final on Aug. 9 at 1:47 p.m.

  • Jehlani Gordon (likely to compete for Jamaica) 
    • UGA freshman
    • Men's 4x100m relay round 1; competing for Jamaica
    • 5:35 a.m.

Results: Jamaica did not qualify, coming 4th in their heat with a time of 38.45, their season best. Gordon ran a 9.64.

  • Daniel Roberts
    • From Peachtree City, Hampton High School graduate
    • Men's 110m hurdles final
    • 3:45 p.m.

Results: Roberts took home the silver with a time of 13.09.

Volleyball

  • Julia Bergmann
    • Georgia Tech alumna
    • Matchup: Women's semifinals, US vs. Brazil; competing for Brazil
    • Time: 10 a.m.

Results: Brazil lost the match 3-2 and will compete against Turkiye in the bronze medal match on Aug. 10 at 11:15 a.m.
