More about Sha'Carri Richardson

Richardson is a Dallas native who started in track in high school, ranking at the top of her class and winning championships.

Although the 24-year-old has competed in the upper echelon of the track world for several years now and has won just about everything there is to win at the junior and collegiate levels, she hasn't drawn the same attention as fellow American Olympic stars like Simone Biles.

She made headlines during the 2020 Olympic Games when she faced a controversial suspension. Although she qualified for the Olympics, she tested positive for marijuana.

The United States Anti-Doping Agency levied a one-month suspect, dashing Richardson's hopes of competing in Tokyo.

On Friday, Richardson appeared with her head completely in the game, hyper-focused eyeing the gold.
