When will Simone Biles be competing at the Olympics?

Simone Biles could wind up competing during six days of the 2024 Olympics.

WASHINGTON — As the world's best athletes compete at the 2024 Summer Games in Paris, Simone Biles will be making her return to the Olympic stage.

The 27-year-old Biles is the most decorated gymnast in the world and is widely considered the best in the sport. She's back in action after bowing out of multiple events in Tokyo to protect her mental health and safety.

When does Simone Biles compete in Paris?

Biles, along with Suni Lee, Jordan Chiles, Jade Carey and 16-year-old newcomer Hezly Rivera, make up the U.S. women's gymnastics team for the 2024 Olympics - which is full of experience.

Biles will open competition in Paris with team qualifying on Sunday, July 28. Team USA is scheduled to be part of the second group competing that day starting at 5:40 a.m. Eastern.

The women's team final begins at 12:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 30.

If Biles were to qualify for the all-around final and each individual apparatus final, here's when she'll then compete:

The women's all-around final begins at 12:15 p.m. ET on Thursday, Aug. 1.

The women's vault final begins at 10:20 a.m. ET on Saturday, Aug. 3.

The women's uneven bars final is at 9:45 a.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 4.

The women's balance beam final is at 6:36 a.m. ET and floor exercise final is at 8:20 a.m. ET on Monday, Aug. 5.

What happened to Simone Biles during the last Olympics?

During the Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Biles dropped from several events she was scheduled to compete in after suffering a condition that gymnasts call "the twisties."

The twisties are no joke for an Olympic-level athlete. It refers to a prolonged period where a gymnast suddenly loses awareness of where they are in relation to the bar and ground. At the speeds gymnasts perform routines during the Olympics, the twisties can cause serious injury if an athlete stumbles or mistimes a movement because of the issue.

When is Olympic gymnastics team final for Paris 2024?

After coming in second in the women's team final in Tokyo, Team USA is eyeing redemption and the gold medal in Paris.

The women's team final begins at 12:15 p.m. ET on Tuesday, July 30.

How many times has Simone Biles been to the Olympics?

The 2024 Paris Summer Games will be Simone Biles' third Olympic appearance. She made her debut in Rio and won four gold medals, including team and individual all-around, and one bronze. The gymnastics events in the 2024 Olympics

At the Paris Olympics, there are three different disciplines: artistic gymnastics, rhythmic gymnastics and trampoline.

Artistic gymnastics is what most fans think of when they hear "gymnastics." Women compete in the floor exercise, vault, uneven bars and balance beam. Men compete on the pommel horse, rings, parallel bars, high bar and floor exercise.

Gymnasts are scored on difficulty and execution.

Rhythmic gymnastics, which combines the acrobatics of gymnastics with dance, is for women only. Rhythmic gymnastics has both solo and team events.

Rhythmic gymnasts perform short routines to music while utilizing a ribbon, hoop, ball and club. They're judged on difficulty, artistry and execution.

The newest gymnastics event to join the Olympic lineup is trampoline, which made its debut at the 2000 Games in Sydney.

In this event, gymnasts soar more than 8 meters into the air and perform a series of twists, bounces and somersaults. They're judged on difficulty, execution and airtime.

There are no team events in trampoline, just men's and women's individual competitions.
