WASHINGTON — Team USA has secured a second gold medal at the Paris Olympics, as well as a close silver medal in the women's 100-meter butterfly swimming final.
Torri Huske won her first gold medal after missing the podium by a fraction of a second in Tokyo, the second for the U.S. in the 2024 Summer Games.
Right behind her was teammate Gretchen Walsh.
Walsh and Huske helped America grab a silver medal in the women's 4x100m freestyle relay earlier in the competition.
Team USA was favored to win the women's 100-meter butterfly, but Walsh and Huske were neck and neck for the gold.
Husk beat Walsh with a time of 55.59 seconds over Walsh's 55.63 seconds — a difference of 0.04 seconds between first and second.
