Here's where the Peach State ranks among states in number of athletes on Team USA

Nearly 600 U.S. athletes will compete in the 2024 Olympics in 32 sports and more than 300 events.

GEORGIA, USA — Georgia will be well-represented at the Olympics, but the Peach State is also home to plenty of Team USA athletes who will compete in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris.

Nearly 600 U.S. athletes will compete in the 2024 Olympics in 32 sports and more than 300 events.

Georgia will have 27 athletes representing Team USA in Paris, ranking the state at No. 8

The 10 states with the most 2024 Team USA athletes going to the Summer Games are:

  1. California: 143
  2. Florida: 46
  3. Texas: 44
  4. Illinois: 39
  5. Pennsylvania: 35
  6. New York: 31
  7. Colorado: 29 
  8. Georgia: 27
  9. Indiana: 24
  10. Maryland: 24

After that, the rankings are:

There are only two states with no Team USA athletes at all: Wyoming and North Dakota.
