SAINT-DENIS, France — Brittany Brown, a University of Iowa alum, was joined by two other Team USA runners Tuesday in the women's 200m final at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
Brown qualified for the medal round with a semifinal time of 22.12 seconds. Two other USA runners were also in the finals: Gabby Thomas, who qualified with the quickest time at 21.86 seconds; and McKenzie Long, who notched a semis time of 22.30 seconds.
The 29-year-old Brown has listed Beyoncé's "American Requiem" and Stevie Wonder's "As" as two songs she likes to listen to as she warms up on the track.
Who won the women's 200m final?
Brown finished third with a time of 22.20 seconds, winning a bronze medal for Team USA.
Gabby Thomas of USA won gold at 21.83 seconds and Julien Alfred of Saint Lucia won silver at 22.08 seconds.
The Olympic and world records for the women's 200m was set by Team USA's Florence Griffith-Joyner in 1988 at 21.34 seconds.
