It looks like it is finally over for Charlie Strong.
Reporters and pundits have said it before, more than once. But this time, there's little doubt that the head coach of the Texas Longhorns will finally be let go after weeks, months, even a year of speculation.
Multiple reports came out Friday night that Strong would, in fact, be fired after losing 31-9 to TCU to finish the season 5-7. Strong was 16-21 in three seasons with Texas. Strong said after the game that he would be meeting with officials Saturday morning.
According to Chip Brown of HornsDigest.com, Texas officials will meet with Strong on Saturday morning where he will be fired. Then, they will meet with Houston Cougars Coach Tom Herman to discuss the job opening, according to Brown. Multiple reports claim that Herman is also close to reaching a deal with LSU for its head coaching job.

After losing to TCU, Texas players were emotional, knowing a loss likely sealed Strong's fate, who had never garnered true support from many prestigious university boosters.
Running back D'onta Foreman was so overcome with emotion after the loss to TCU that Strong had to help him up, and Strong's wife consoled Foreman while walking off the field.

It's been tough for Strong at Texas, but perhaps he can finally find some peace when Texas officials fire him Saturday morning after a dramatic few years, and he can move on to his next job.
Strong has two years remaining on his contract. He is guaranteed $10.7 million.
