(USA TODAY) -- Wrestling legend “Nature Boy” Ric Flair vowed that “Naitch WILL be back!” in his first message to fans since he was hospitalized more than two weeks ago.
On Twitter, Flair wrote, “Sometimes you have to get knocked down lower than you have ever been, to stand up taller than you ever were. Naitch WILL be back!” with a prayers emoji.
Flair, 68, had surgery Aug. 14, although neither his representatives nor WWE has released specifics of the surgery. His longtime girlfriend, Wendy Barlow, said Flair had “multiple organ problems.”
Multiple reports have said Flair had surgery on his bowels to remove an obstruction that had caused his kidneys to shut down.

Flair’s tweet follows a Facebook post from Barlow, who said Flair will be beginning physical therapy soon.
"I wanted to update everyone on Ric’s progress as so many people have been reaching out and offering their Prayers and Support. He is doing very well for a Man who has been through so much! He will begin Physical Therapy shortly and will be stronger than ever and back out enjoying all the fans sooner than you would think. I can Honestly say I have witnessed a Miracle.”
Flair’s daughter, Ashley, who works for WWE as Charlotte, returned to the road with the company Friday.
