Now that Atlanta United has won the MLS Cup, the team gets to move on to the next step - they get to battle against the best teams from all of North and Central America.
The CONCACAF Champions League takes the top four teams from the United States -- including MLS Cup champion Atlanta United -- and pits them against top teams from Canada, Mexico and Central America.
This year, as MLS Cup champion, Atlanta United will get to join the other US teams -- Sporting Kansas City, Houston Dynamo and New York Red Bulls -- to face off against champions from Canada (Toronto FC), Mexico (UANL, Santos Laguna, Monterrey and Toluca), Costa Rica (Saprissa and Herediano), El Salvador (Alianza), Guatemala (Guastatoya), Honduras (Marathon), Panama (Independiente) and the Dominican Republic (Atletico Pantoja) in a championship tournament to determine the best overall team.
