ATLANTA — Thousands of reports are coming from people who are having issues sending messages via Apple's iMessage system.
Downdetector is showing that there were over 13,700 reports of iMessage messages not sending as of 6:08 p.m. Around 6:30 p.m., messages seemed to be sending sporadically.
iMessages are the blue text messages that are sent between different Apple devices that show you when a text message is delivered and/or read, depending on your settings.
Despite iMessage messages not delivering, it appears that SMS text messages that send in green on Apple devices are still working.
Users are taking to X to report messages not sending and iMessage is also a trending search topic on X.
On social media platform X, Apple's tweets are not loading on their official account. It's still unclear if those two issues are connected at this time.
11Alive has reached out to Apple to see if this problem is network-wide or only for certain carriers.
