Several hurt in multiple car crash near Chattahoochee River

Lanes are still blocked, and travelers should find another route.

ATLANTA — Update: All lanes of I-75 north are now clear past Mt. Paran Road and Northside Parkway following a crash that had previously blocked all lanes, GDOT announced at 4:48 p.m.

Original story below:

Many people are hurt after several cars crashed on I-75 near the Chattahoochee River, according to Atlanta Police Department on Wednesday.

There's not much information about those hurt in the wreck or how many cars were involved. Police have not said what caused the crash, but they did say lanes were still shut down.

They have pinpointed the wreck is located on northbound I-75 past Mt. Paran Road and Northside Parkway.

GDOT posted on its website that they've reopened two lanes of I-75 near the Chattahoochee River following the accident. Heavy traffic building behind the scene is shown on their cameras.

When it first happened, officials closed all northbound lanes. Fire and emergency crews were also seen at the crash.

The Georgia Department of Transportation estimated earlier that the scene would be cleared by 3:15 p.m., but the time has extended to 5 p.m., according to their website.
