HENRY COUNTY, Ga. — Traffic was at a standstill on Interstate 75 southbound in Stockbridge Friday night.
The bumper-to-bumper traffic started before exit 224 by Eagles Landing Parkway near Flippen Road just before 6:30 p.m.
According to Georgia Department of Transportation cameras, authorities blocked traffic after a semi appeared to have crashed into a vehicle. Henry County Police Department officers were assisting first responders at the scene.
The department announced the traffic jam around 6:20 p.m. An hour later, police posted an update asking drivers to take an alternate route.
GDOT cameras showed police started letting traffic flow around 8 p.m. Three lanes were still blocked around 8:40 p.m.
Police with Henry County said one person was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The department is still investigating the crash.
