COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Lanes are closed on Interstate 75 after an Amazon truck caught fire, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation on Friday morning.

It happened in the southbound lanes past State Route 5/Barret Parkway. Crews said that three lanes were closed.

GDOT said crews were called to the area around 2:49 a.m. and expect to have roads cleared by 6 a.m. Looking at the 11Alive Skytracker, the fire seems to be out, but several fire officials can still be seen cleaning up the area. Hundreds of packages are falling from the truck as crews continue their work.

Officials have not provided any information about what caused the truck to catch fire or if anyone was hurt.

11Alive Traffic Expert Crash Clark said to use Highway 41/Cobb Parkway or Highway 5 from Woodstock to get around.
