ATLANTA — In a result that will come as little surprise to Atlanta drivers, the city has been ranked a bottom-3 worst city for commuters.
The rankings were recently compiled by the real estate website Clever. The utilized metrics such as "annual hours lost to traffic," time it takes to get to work the average distance of a commute.
In a 50-city ranking, Atlanta came in with a thud at No. 48, beating out only Chicago and Houston.
The report's figures put Atlanta commuters at an average of 260 hours spent annually driving to and from work - pretty much an hour for every work day in the year.
It also listed Atlanta's annual fuel cost at $652.16 per commuter and $416 per commuter in annual maintenance cost.
Atlanta's public transit ranked 21st, between Providence, Rhode Island and Cleveland.
The five best cities for commuters were Salt Lake City, Buffalo, Raleigh, North Carolina, Hartford, Connecticut and Columbus, Ohio.
