ATLANTA — According to Atlanta Police, a motorcyclist suffered "significant injuries" and was transported to a hospital in critical condition after being hit on I-75 North.
The incident closed the interstate for a number of hours Sunday morning.
APD said a sedan hit the motorcycle which had been "stopped in a lane of travel." It's not clear why the motorcycle was stopped on the interstate.
It happened a little before 6 a.m. near Cleveland Avenue on I-75.
"The Accident Investigations Unit was requested to the scene," a police statement said. "Investigators are working to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident."
In another incident early Sunday, a jack-knifed tractor trailer closed I-285 West at GA-400. It is not clear if there were any injuries there.
