ATLANTA — For a second straight morning to end the work week, metro Atlanta saw a heavy dose of early rain that has created tricky traffic conditions.
11Alive will monitor conditions throughout the morning commute as drivers try to avoid wrecks and slowdowns.
According to the 11Alive StormTrackers forecast, rains could continue through the mid-morning.
Here's what we're seeing out on the roads so far:
I-285 Traffic
All lanes being briefly held for a wreck on I-285 South at Bolton Road on the Westside Perimeter. Will cause big backup to South Cobb Drive.
I-285 traffic
Stalled car causing complications at the exits for I-20 on I-285 North on the Westside Perimeter.
I-20 traffic
Wreck has right lanes obstructed on I-20 East at Langhorn St. Causing a slowdown.
GA-16 traffic in Newnan area
If you're north of Newnan, GDOT reports GA-16 West at Dyer Road is closed after a crash.
GA-138 at I-75
Watch out for this one in the Stockbridge area.
Jonesboro Road at I-85
(Update: This incident cleared)
Appears to be a school bus involved in a wreck at the I-85 South exit to Jonesboro Road.
I-75/85 traffic
Watch out for this one, traffic cameras show things slow but moving.
I-285 traffic
(Update 7:30 a.m. - Lanes have reopened here)
A wreck on I-285 South on the Westside Perimeter has things slowed down from South Cobb Drive back past Atlanta Road. GDOT reports at least two lanes closed from the wreck.
You can take Maner Road (turns into Riverview Road) to get around it.
I-675 traffic
An apparent single-car wreck on I-675 North just after E Conley Road has a lane closed as you approach I-285. Things slowed down back past Anvilblock Road.
Your best way around this one would be to get on Moreland Avenue to travel up to I-285.
US-78/Stone Mountain Freeway traffic
Stall in the left lane past Mountain Industrial Blvd. is causing a slowdown almost all the way back to where Stone Mountain Freeway meets .GA-10/Memorial Drive.
