KINGSTON, Ga. — A three-mile stretch of road in Bartow County likely won't be reopened for days following a train derailment on Friday.

On social media, the Kingston, Georgia police department reported that Hall Station Road will be closed between W. Howard Street and Old Hall Station due to the derailment.

Authorities haven't released many details about the accident or how it happened, though they expect the roadway to open by Monday at the earliest. A look at Google Maps shows the two-way road running through a predominantly rural farmland area with some residential.

Kingston itself is a town of just over 500 residents roughly 60 miles northwest of Atlanta. And while the city itself didn't directly suggest any new information, it did share details from a resident advising that locals take the "KTown Bypass" until the wreck is cleaned up.
