TRAFFIC | 2 lanes reopen after bus fire on I-75 southbound in Atlanta

No one was injured, according to Atlanta Police.

FULTON COUNTY, Ga. —  Two lanes have reopened after a bus fire on I-75 South before Northside Drive in Fulton County Wednesday afternoon, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation.

The incident happened around 3:30 p.m. Both sides of the interstate were blocked, but the northbound lanes eventually reopened. 

Atlanta Police confirmed that its officers responded to the scene to help control traffic. They added the call was cleared, and no one was injured.

GDOT cameras show heavy plumes of smoke in the area and multiple fire trucks on the scene. 

The call has been cleared and no injuries were reported.

GDOT recommends using State Route 3 or US 41 as alternate routes and avoiding the area.

The agency lists 5:00 p.m. as the anticipated end time for the incident.

"Emergency responders are currently working to reopen the lanes as quickly and as safely as possible," GDOT said in a message.
