DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — A section of I-285 has been shut down after a car carrier caught fire underneath it on Monday afternoon.

The DeKalb County Fire Department reports that several cars have burned in the fire which happened underneath the Covington Highway Overpass on the interstate.

For some time, northbound traffic was being re-routed as structural engineers checked the integrity of the bridge. However, new video from the 11Alive SkyTracker at the scene appears to show traffic moving once again.

And while crews appear to still be checking the structure of the overpass, traffic is also flowing above it as well.

11Alive is working to gather more information. Check back for updates as they become available.
