GWINNETT COUNTY, Ga. — The northbound lanes of Interstate 85 were shut down for two hours Monday morning after a chain of events involving a crash; two people were seriously hurt.
Gwinnett County Police said they were called to the scene of the accident where a Mercedes hit a trailer that was parked on the shoulder of the interstate.
Then, police said a semi-truck struck the Mercedes and the driver of the car was ejected from the vehicle. A passenger inside of the Mercedes was also hurt. Both people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries.
The police report said this happened about a mile south of the Indian Trail Lilburn Road. The road was closed as crews worked to clear the scene.
