Several weekend lane closures expected on major metro Atlanta interstate | What to know

Mutlple weekend land closures are expected through Monday. Your "Crash Course" for the traffic this weekend.

ATLANTA — Are you rolling through metro Atlanta this weekend? Here's a heads-up for what to expect on the road as Georgia Department of Transportation crews begin construction on major interstates. 

Here's your 'Crash Course' in traffic this weekend 

As drivers head out for some possibly soggy shenanigans, weather permitting, GDOT will also be out — and I mean, they are out and about everywhere, or so it seems. 

Multiple weekend land closures are expected to take place through Monday. 

Weekend lane closures are expected in the following counties: 

  • Cherokee County 
  • Cobb County 
  • DeKalb County

Interstates that will be affected are: 

  • Interstate 575 
  • Interstate 285
  • Interstate 20
