1 dead following four-car collision on I-285 in DeKalb County, police say

The crash was right before Georgia Route 13 and Buford Highway exit 32 in the westbound lanes, GDOT said.

DEKALB COUNTY, Ga. — All lanes are back open on Interstate 285 in DeKalb County following a deadly crash, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation on Saturday morning.

The four-vehicle crash was right before Georgia Route 13 and Buford Highway exit 32 in the westbound lanes, GDOT said. Emergency responders could be seen on GDOT cameras to clear the incident. GDOT said crews were called around 5:45 a.m. and expected lanes to open by 9 a.m.

Traffic investigators believe the crash started after a vehicle collided into a disabled car in the middle of the interstate.

Drivers were being asked to use alternate routes.
