I-75 in Cobb County reopens after wreck that killed 2

Marietta Police said that there are two fatalities as a result of the wreck.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — At least two people are dead in a crash involving five vehicles Tuesday morning, police said. All lanes of I-75 north in Marietta were completely shut down for more than four hours.

It happened just before the south loop around 5:30 a.m., Marietta Police said. They expect the interstate to be closed for several hours. Just before 10 a.m., lanes reopened.

Police said a young woman had a flat tire and pulled off to the left shoulder and attempted to change it when she was struck. A chain reaction occurred killing her and one other person.

Officers were diverting traffic off the exit ramp to the south loop where drivers can stay on the ramp -- and re-enter I-75 after the accident area.

The names of the victims have not been released.
