COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A crash shut down lanes Friday afternoon on I-75 North in Cobb County.

The crash, just before the split with I-575, had all lanes closed at points.

Traffic cameras showed several vehicles were involved, and Cobb County Police tweeted that there was a fire affecting I-575 South in the area as well.

The department tweeted: "TRAFFIC ALERT: I575 NB near exit 268 has been temporarily closed due to a multi-vehicle accident investigation.  I575 SB at Barrett Pkwy is also shut down for an auto fire. Avoid the area, expect delays, and plan alternate routes."

It was not immediately clear if there were serious injuries involved.

Georgia 511 also tweeted to avoid travel in the area and use alternative routes.

Getting around it

The best bet to get around it going north to get back on I-75 is to take Cobb Parkway up to Barrett Parkway and back to I-75.

To get up back to I-575, you can take Canton Road to Piedmont Road and then back to the interstate.
