SENOIA, Ga. — A father and eight-year-old child have died after an accident in Coweta County on Thursday.
According to Lt. W. Mark Riley with the Georgia State Patrol, a trooper was dispatched to a single-vehicle crash near Senoia after reports that a truck had wrecked into a wooded area.
The trooper arrived to find a black F-150 that had been heading west on Ga. 16 near Tinsley Way when it left the roadway and struck a large group of trees.
There, the trooper found two victims, 35-year-old Travis Brown of Newnan and his 8-year-old daughter Emmalyna Brown. Emergency personnel confirmed that both had died.
The GSP description doesn't detail what may have caused the accident.
Based on the investigation, authorities believe the crash happened around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday night; however, the investigation is still underway and in the preliminary stages.
