BARROW COUNTY, Ga. -- Interstate 85 south in Barrow County may be partially closed for several hours Friday.
A FedEx tractor trailer collided with a Braselton police car and then overturned at Highway 211.
Barrow County Emergency Services Lt. Scott Dakin said crews extricated the tractor trailer driver, who was trapped inside his vehicle, shortly before 9 a.m. The tractor trailer driver was airlifted to an area hospital. The police officer was outside his cruiser at the time of the accident; he sustained minor injuries, according to the Georgia State Patrol.
One lane of I-85 south has reopened; the other will remain closed until cleanup is completed, according to Dakin.
I-85 north is also experiencing congestion in the area.
