FLOYD COUNTY, Ga. — Floyd County Police were working to clear a roadway Friday afternoon after a log truck tipped over.
Police said they closed a portion of GA 100 north heading toward Chattooga County as of 3:15 p.m. while crews worked to clean up the area.
The driver of a log semi-truck lost control said to police while driving the curves near Friday Road. The truck slid down the embankment and spilled the logs.
A photo posted to social media shows logs and debris from the truck scattered on the side of the road with the semi-truck on its side.
The Rome Fire Department removed the driver from the semi-truck and they were taken to Atrium Floyd Health, said police.
Details on the driver's injuries were not provided by the police on Friday.
