13-month-old baby only survivor of Forest Park accident that killed 3

A child was also injured, police said.

FOREST PARK, Ga. — Three are dead after a three-car accident that shut down a Forest Park intersection for several hours, Friday.

A 13-month old baby was also taken to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston Hospital in good condition.

Forest Park Police reported that the accident happened at about 6:30 p.m., near the intersection of Forest Parkway at Lake Drive. This is near Forest Park City Hall and Starr Park.

Officers at the scene said the crash involved three vehicles and that two people in one vehicle had died. A third person died at the hospital.

According to the Georgia State Patrol, a Chevy Corvette was going east on Forest Parkway when it crossed the median and hit a Ford Fiesta, carrying 44-year-old Christina Carbajal, 63-year-old Miguel Hernandez and the 13-month-old baby, head-on. After impact, the Corvette hit a Ford Expedition, also in the westbound lanes.

GSP said the driver and passenger of the Ford Fiesta died at the crash scene, but the baby OK. The driver of the Corvette, however, 54-year-old Jesse Williams, was ejected from the vehicle and also died.

The driver of the Ford Expedition sustained minor injuries.

At this point, authorities haven't released details on a specific cause of the crash.
