ATLANTA — Update:
Atlanta Fire Rescue said the gas leak was contained shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Original Story:
Traffic is being diverted from two intersections near Spring Street, with a third requested to be shut down.
According to Atlanta Fire, a construction crew on 1280 Spring Street hit a 4-inch gas line and ruptured it.
As a result, two intersections are currently shut down by Atlanta Police. Those include:
- 14th at Spring Street
- 14th at West Peachtree Street
Atlanta Fire said police also requested West Peachtree at 16th Street to be blocked off as well.
In the meantime, Atlanta Gas Light is on the scene according to the fire department. There is no word yet on how big the ruptured gas line is.
