A crash early Monday morning has closed a major artery through Barrow County, and the closure could last multiple hours according to the Georgia Department of Transportation's 511 service.
GDOT reported the crash on GA-316/US-29/University Parkway at Jackson Trail Road just after 6:40 a.m. on Monday. The transit agency said the initial estimated clear time wouldn't be until 9:30 a.m., nearly three hours.
The roadway is a major east-west route between Gwinnett County and Athens.
It was unclear what caused the wreck or what, if any, injuries may be involved.
