KENNESAW, Ga. — Drivers travelers northbound on Interstate 575 were at a standstill near Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw on Thursday.
Georgia Department of Transportation traffic camera shows three lanes were blocked during rush hour. Two fire trucks and an ambulance are seen in the footage.
Georgia State Patrol said it was called to a six-vehicle wreck.
A car was trying to enter I-575 from the express lanes when the sedan had a tire failure, according to troopers. Authorities said the elderly driver didn't realize something was wrong with her tire and kept on going. She eventually lost control of the car, striking five other vehicles, troopers said.
The woman was taken to Kennestone Hospital with minor injuries, no one else was hurt, authorities said.
All lanes have since reopened.
