ATLANTA — Two people are dead after an accident involving multiple motorcycles in Clayton County, police said.
The accident happened on Sunday at 2:22 p.m. on I-75 Southbound just before the Old Dixie Rd. exit ramp
Once at the scene, officers with Clayton County Police found two motorcyclists unresponsive. According to a release "citizens were stopped and they provided CPR until EMS arrived."
Both riders were taken to a local hospital and where they were pronounced dead, according to police.
Clayton County Police announced that all lanes of I-75 South were shut down on Twitter Sunday afternoon as a result, and advise drivers to take an alternate route to avoid delays.
The police department added that a third motorcycle rider is in critical but stable condition, while a fourth was checked out by EMS with non-life-threatening injuries.
Clayton County Police has not yet released the names of the victims and said an investigation into the crash is ongoing.
