One person critically injured after crash on I-75, GSP says

Here's what we know.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — A driver is in critical condition after crashing into a semi-truck on I-75 on Monday afternoon, Georgia State Patrol said.

According to GSP, troopers responded to I-75 North at Mount Paran Road around 4:30 p.m. to investigate a two-vehicle crash with serious injuries. The crash prompted all lanes to be blocked during rush hour traffic.

Preliminary investigation indicated a grey Jeep Wrangler was following too closely and hit the rear of a white semi-truck. Roadway evidence and witnesses said traffic came to a stop and the Jeep did not stop, GSP said. The agency also stated that there was no sign of the Jeep braking.

The driver of the Jeep was sent to the hospital and is in critical condition, GSP said.

Video shows first responders in the area as they worked to clear the scene.
