TRAFFIC | I-75 South cleared after hauler lost piece of equipment

A piece of machinery was overturned onto the interstate after falling off the hauler Wednesday morning.

COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Anyone who was making their Thanksgiving travel Wednesday morning on I-75 South through Cobb County ran into major delays after a hauler lost a piece of equipment onto the interstate.

The incident happened a little after 8 a.m. and had multiple lanes blocked near Delk Road for more than two hours, according to the Georgia Department of Transportation 511 website.

As of 10:30 a.m., this situation was cleared.

Delays at one point extended almost as far back as Chastain Road on I-75, and delays are extending up I-575 as well. The 11Alive SkyTracker flew over the scene, where the overturned piece of equipment was visible near the hauler the lost it.
